Kelly Ripa On TLC
Actor-producers Kelly Ripa and her soap opera-star hubby Mark Consuelos along entertainment's powerhouse Jennifer Lopez has teamed up with cable channel TLC to develop new programs. In fact, the couple has been employed to co-executive, co-produce and star in multiple projects including one that will star the “Live With Regis and Kelly” co-host.
TLC President Angela Shapiro-Mathes has declared that the network will partner the tv stars as she allows viewers into their home. Shapiro-Mathes was actually at the helm of ABC Daytime during the era when Mark and Kelly starred on the soap opera All My Children. Angela claims she knows a star when she sees one and so the deal was made. The overall deal gives the network the first dibs on unscripted television projects.
The whole story was declared publicly at the Discovery Communications upfront presentation Wednesday in New York.
We have yet to discover how do these celebrities find the energy and time to tackle everything? Let's not forget Kelly is mother of three (Joaquin, 5, Lola, 7 and, Michael, 10) cohost of the popular show Live With Regis and Kelly, not to mention all the commercials she's been featured in and the fact that she has signed a deal with Electrolux as well.
TLC's reality-based programming and innovative docu-series include John & Kate Plus 8, What Not to Wear, Ten Years Younger , Little People Big World and LA Ink. TLC continues to reinvent home design with Your Place or Mine and Date My House.
